Phil: As my co-blogger has admirably explained, Vettel is on pole for tomorrow's Chinese grand prix, 0.7s ahead of his nearest rival. If he can capitalise on this and turn it into a win he'll have taken the first three races of the season. That's only happened six times before in the 61 years of F1 (Senna '91, Mansell '92, Schumacher '94, '00 and '04 and Hill '96). Each time the driver has gone on to take the world title.
